THARI KANJI / THARI KACHIYATHU
Ingredients:
Rava/Thari/semolina - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Milk - 5 cups or 4 +1 cup water
Salt -a pinch
Cardamom - 3 powdered
For garnishing:
Ghee - 2 tsp
Small onion - 1 or onion - quarter of 1
Cashews - -5 broken to pieces
Raisins - 1 tbsp
Preparation:
1. In a saucepan ,add 1/2 semolina and roast i low heat for 1 minutes.Remove (try not to burn)and add a pinch of salt,mix and keep aside.
2. Add 5 cups of milk to the sauce pan and boil in medium heat.
3.When it starts to boil , add sugar mix well and add the semolina slowly by mixing in other hand with a spoon without forming lumps.
4.Allow it to boil and add the powdered cardamom to it and switch off.
5.Take another small pan,add 2 tbsp ghee.
6.To this, add onion and fry till brown.
7.When onion starts to brown,add in the pieces of cashew and raisin and allow the raisin to puff and switch off the flame.
8.Pour this over the prepared kanji and serve hot .
this is atotally new thing for me.. i have rava veragiyathu at times.. kollaam... check out my space.. hope to interact more
