KOZHI MULAKITTA CURRY/SPICY CHICKEN CURRY

Ingredients :
Chicken -1 small or 1/2 kg
Onion - 2 medium chopped
Tomato - 1 or half if its ripe chopped
Green chilly -1
Garlic -3 cloves (5 if small) crushed
Ginger - 1 small piece crushed
Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
Chilly powder -4 tsp
Coriander powder -2 1/2 tsp
Garam masala -1/2 tsp
Cloves and cardamom - 2 each
Cinnamon stick - 2 small pieces
Water - 2   cup
Salt - as needed
Oil - 3-4 tbsp

PREPARATION;
1.Cut chicken into small pieces and wash 3 -4 times and add 1 tsp salt n wash well and drain.

2.Heat a wide pan on medium heat, add oil and to this add chopped onions and saute .

3. Add cardamom ,cloves and cinnamon stick ,saute onion  till brown and translucent.

4. Add green chilly, crushed ginger and garlic,saute for 1 min until raw smell fades.

5.Add chopped tomatoes and cook well.
6.Add turmeric powder,coriander powder and red chilly  powder and saute.
7.Add 2 cup of water and boil the masala well for the raw smell to fade.


8.Tip in chicken and mix well.Cover and cook on medium heat for 1/2 an hour .


9.After half an hour of cooikng ,if the gravy is too thick,can add water accordingly  to make thin gravy as per ur taste and boil for few more minutes .Add garam masala powder and chicken masala,cover and cook for 2 more minutes for the flavour to infuse.
10.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

Notes:
1.I use homemade chilly powder,if ur chilly powder is spicy,adjust as per ur taste.
2.Add water according to ur taste,if thick or thin gravy u prefer. 
3.All are juz my calculations,u can add or subtract  as u like .
4.It goes well with neichoru and pathiri.
